COCONUT COIR is a natural fibre made out of coconut husks, and is a renewable resource alternative to peat moss. The extraction of the coconut fibre husks results in a by-product called coco pith or coco coir. Coconut Coir is a 100% natural growing medium and is triple soaked by monsoon rains for 18 months while on the ground and dried in the sun to Ultra Super Wash™ the coconut fibre to ensure salt content is below 0.5ec and a pH of 5.8-6.5. This makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics or container plant growing. The red color of the coconut pith block hints at product maturity.
Directions for use in the garden and landscape: Gently add water and crumble into soil. Ratio of Coconut Coir to soil is dependent upon amount of water retention desired. Dry breakup method for best results require a chipper shredder. For wet expansion method, soak in 8 gallons of water to soften.
